Job Title: Accounts Payable Officer

Job Functions/Responsibilities

  • Efficiently process and manage all incoming invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers. Negotiate favorable terms and conditions, including payment terms and discounts.
  • Prepare and execute payments, including checks, and wire transfers. Ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors.
  •  Address and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to invoices, payments, or vendor accounts. Work closely with vendors to resolve disputes in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all accounts payable transactions. Ensure all documentation is complete and up-to-date.
  • Perform regular reconciliations of vendor statements, accounts payable ledgers, and other related accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and present reports on accounts payable activities, including outstanding invoices, aging reports, and payment schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting principles, and relevant regulations. Participate in audits and provide necessary documentation and support.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains within the accounts payable function. Implement best practices to streamline operations.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • HND / BSc in Accounting or a related field.
  • Proven experience in accounting roles, preferably in a similar capacity.
  • Familiarity with accounting software; ICAN certification is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Exceptional skills in data analysis related to purchasing and procurement.
  • Immediate availability to start within two week.

 

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary: N100,000 – N250,000, depending on experience
