Job Description
Our recruitment agency is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Internal Auditor/Inventory Manager for a hair store located in Lagos Island. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and auditing all financial transactions and inventory movements within the store. This role requires a thorough understanding of store operations and inventory management to ensure accuracy and compliance. The Internal Auditor/Inventory Manager will work closely with the Operations Manager to maintain financial integrity and streamline inventory processes.
Job Functions/Responsibilities
- Conduct regular audits of financial transactions and inventory records to ensure accuracy and compliance with store policies and procedures.
- Identify and report discrepancies or irregularities in financial records and inventory levels.
- Develop and implement audit plans and procedures to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and risk management.
- Oversee and track all inventory movements, including receiving, storing, and distributing products.
- Ensure accurate recording of stock levels and perform regular stock audits.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to manage inventory replenishment and optimize stock levels.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager to align auditing and inventory management practices with store operations.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve operational efficiency and financial accuracy.
- Assist in resolving any discrepancies or issues related to inventory and financial transactions.
- Prepare detailed reports on audit findings, inventory levels, and financial discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of audit processes and inventory records.
- Present audit findings and recommendations to management and suggest corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory and compliance requirements related to financial and inventory management.
- Identify potential risks and implement measures to mitigate them.
- Keep abreast of industry best practices and changes in regulations.
Requirements/Qualifications
- ND/HND in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in internal auditing and inventory management, preferably in a retail environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial and inventory reporting.
- Proficiency in using auditing and inventory management software.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with the Operations Manager and other staff members.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work onsite and manage auditing and inventory tasks independently.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Experience or willingness to work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure seamless store operations.
