  • The Investment Lead Officer is essential in supporting our Company’s team on projects as they deliver quality service to our portfolio and other stakeholders.
  • The Investment Lead Officer will be responsible for devising strategies and investment plans and prevailing conditions with our portfolio and how we can succeed within the African startup ecosystem.
  • As the Investment Lead Officer you will have a field of vision shared by a few others – you’ll participate in everything from the behind-the-scenes details to the big picture.
  • You’ll work alongside a small, agile but growing remote team from beginning to end, as your efforts will be designed to help our Company in our efforts to improve and achieve growth.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform financial due diligence and analysis on prospective projects and recommend an investment decision. Develop an investment policy aligned to the strategy and an investment criteria for evaluating prospective projects.
  • Creating financial models that enhance return on investment of projects and financial planning.
  • Preparation of financial documents for presentation to potential and current investors on specific investments- Phone applications, Proposals, information memoranda, and prospectus
  • Analyzing portfolio accounts and financial projections and advising on how to best position its investments.
  • Provide updates on financial/commercial engagement activities in order to right position the company in the local and the global market.
  • Liaising with industry stakeholders and regulators to expand funding access while improving portfolio and business perception.
  • Conducting market research on the industry and gathering market intelligence to enhance the management of funds
  • Lead and be involved in the design, business analysis, and mind mapping as well as portfolio formulation processes Requirements
  • Organize, promote and sell all investment products through locked-in contacts; strengthening established relationships through marketing calls
  • Initiate cold and warm calls to prospective leads; schedule follow-up calls to publicize company products.
  • Collaborative and individual design and recommend tailor-made investment solutions to current and prospective clients based on client need analysis
  • Achieve agreed-upon sales targets and outcomes within the stated time frame
  • Keep and maintain an accurate log of all scheduled market calls, investor engagement status, and complaints.
  • Ensuring quality assurance in identifying product improvements and new products in cognizance of industry trends, market activities, and competitors
  • Continuous education on the benefits of savings and investing in the business to prospective and current clients
  • Develop and deploy individual and team strategies to bolster sustainable sales.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Management, Marketing or related field, an MBA will be a huge advantage.
  • 4 – 5 years of relevant work experience in financial services with proven success in developing client relationships as well as sourcing, negotiating, structuring, and closing quality investments.
  • Experience, interest, and aptitude in finance and general business management.
  • Our ideal candidate will be an intrapreneur, ex-entrepreneur, and/or advanced management consultant who can function as a Builder and an Operator
  • Keen interest in working with start-ups.
  • Strong communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office programs-Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook. Attention to detail and timeliness in delivering on commitments.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with experience solving complex problems and communicating findings.
  • A good collaborator.
  • Networking and relationship management skills
  • Proven business development skills with a track record of achieving sales targets.
  • Sales-driven, results-driven, and target-driven attitude.
  • Proven ability to work independently, and deliver promptly and efficiently under pressure as well as meet tight deadlines.

N100,000 – N200,000 / Month.
