With the rising Economic issues in Nigeria, it is no doubt that even trying to learn a skill to carve one’s way into being self-employed has become an enormous task. Mastering a skill takes time, and one is usually distracted by the difficult times faced and could easily lead to you giving up on learning a particular skill. This has made a full-time high-paying job the habit of our generation. Nothing beats getting that good paying job that guarantees a credit alert at the end of every month right?

 

It is most definitely normal to investigate jobs that are the best-paying while hunting for Jobs. Do note that the average salary in Nigeria is ₦100,000. Having said this it doesn’t mean there aren’t Jobs that pay really high in Nigeria. In-fact some people earn as much as a million naira per month. But it does come down to many factors such as Industry, Experience level, Years of experience, etc.

 

So lets get down to it. After a research, we have pulled the 10 highest paying jobs currently in Nigeria. Do note this research was carried out by Hotjobsng using different available tools online, most especially the Salary structure offered by companies in these industries.

Digital Marketing / Social Media Influencer — ₦80,000 – ₦200,000/Month

Are you good at developing, implementing and managing marketing campaigns, implementing SEO strategies that promote a company and its products and/or services? You might wanna start looking for job opportunities in this field. Digital Marketing is fast growing and is one of the most underrated Jobs currently. We term it underrated because 70% of companies in Nigeria aren’t even aware of the impact digital marketing can have on their businesses. This is one of the skills you can actually learn on your own. More-so, if you have a large following on social media, you can take advantage of this field.

Banking Jobs — ₦90,000 – ₦150,000/Month

Yes, Banking jobs is our No. 10 on the list. If you are interested in savings, loans, taxes, investments, and securities, anything that has to do with finance, A Banking job might be good for you. Bankers earn an average salary, though depending on your level, you are guaranteed to earn more. We came to realize also that most Bankers aren’t happy with their jobs because its tasking compared to the salary earned. I had a friend of mine who quit his banking job recently. It however does offer a steady monthly income.

Parents always advice their children while young to become lawyers, well it turns out being a lawyer pays but…….. Yes there is a but. Entry-level lawyers don’t earn enough and that is the only problem with being a lawyer. You have to work your ass off and dedicate a lot of time and resources. But after a few years it actually pays to be a lawyer. Also you might want to look into working for Government agencies and some other corporations who have legal departments. Lawyers actually earn good salaries at these agencies depending on your level. Only Entry-Level lawyers complain about their Salaries. And on top of that, being a lawyer seems fun.

Business developers are in high demand in Nigeria currently. It is one thing to start a business, it is another different ball game to build your clients as well as maintain a relationship to boost your sales. That is why Employers seek after business developers. Though this job is mostly available at the senior or experienced level, it is understandable as no one would like an inexperienced person to handle such a job as important as this right? Many corporations today a in search of data analysts. Though this line of job is in lower demand in Nigeria, but it is still one of the highest paying jobs in Nigeria due to its pedigree worldwide. It takes a lot to become a data analyst, Mathematical calculations and programming all involved.

Medical Jobs — ₦200,000 – ₦350,000/Month

After going through all those stress and hard-work in school, most Medical professionals will tell you it was worth every bit of it. Don’t believe anyone who tells you being a medical doctor does not pay. Though like most jobs, it depends on your level of experience but even many Entry-level medical professionals earn comfortably well. It depends on the opportunity available and if you are able to get those high-paying Entry-level medical jobs. And i am no doctor to be able to tell that they enjoy their jobs.

4th on our list is Aviation Jobs. Pilots are not in high demand, but its one of those Jobs that pay really well. Though people see it as a risky job, and it takes a lot of training and practice to become one. That is why pilots are always held in high esteem. The are mostly seen as heroes. I have actually seen people whom during my University days wished they had studied engineering instead of their current course of study at the time. Well i wouldn’t blame them. The entertainment industry is by far one of the fastest growing industries in Nigeria. Funny enough, you do not necessarily need to have a degree to delve into this sector. Entertainers in Nigeria earn mouth-watering cash and if you are highly skilled, you might want to consider this industry.

Human Resources / HR Jobs: They are very much sought after and in high demand. Their importance in any organization cannot be overemphasized. That is why they are paid a reasonable amount of salary.

 

NGO Jobs: Though this isn’t field-specific, NGO jobs are hot cake in the country. You might want to start looking into gwtting certifications and acquiring skills to help you gain entry into this field. eg: Project management, Monitoring and evaluation etc. Generally NGO’s pay well and so long as Nigeria remain a 3rd world country, they are here to stay.
