The American Center for International Labor Solidarity, or Solidarity Center, launched in 1997, is an organization dedicated to helping workers around the world build independent and democratic trade unions. It works with NGOs and unions worldwide to improve living conditions and promote equitable, sustainable development, to empower women workers to confront and challenge global systems, to implement projects to prevent human trafficking, provide services to victims of trafficking and also to promote safe migration. To this end, the Center’s education programs feature training in basic human and worker rights, union skills, advocacy, occupational safety and health, economic literacy, and civic and voter education. The Solidarity Center receives funding from both public and private non-profit sources.
