The coordinator for ministry is a leader that ensures the growth of the small groups by developing, planning and implementing activities and strategies that enhance growth in the small groups. Also responsible for providing adequate support and guidance to the various ministry teams that make up the small groups and report to the Campus Pastor.

Job description

  • Work with Ministry head to ensure increase in number of workers, in the number of small groups and in small groups attendance
  • Examine changes in attendance patterns for members and reach out to them in an effort to reconnect them to the life of the church
  • Team with the pastors, council, and other staff to guide, direct, and manage the ministries of the church, as appropriate to each ministry.
  • Serve as a regular member of the Ministries Committee.
  • Coordinate planning and execution of new leader orientation for ministry volunteers.
  • Collaborate with other coordinator to ensure all ministries, volunteers, and participants are compliant with policies and are regularly trained on best practices.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, providing resources and connections to support effective, coordinated ministry.
  • Using database resources and knowledge of congregational interests, promote volunteer engagement with ministry programs.
  • Work with staff, pastors, ministry leaders, and Ministry Committee to provide timely and accurate communication with the congregation and community regarding ministry opportunities.
  • In collaboration with Ministries Committee, ensure that all ministries have adequate leadership, and be present during ministries programs or event
  • Coordinate training for ministry leaders, staff, and volunteers on issues such as effective discipline, coordinated communication, cultural competency, and church policies etc.
  • Maintain a centralized record of church ministries and activities, connecting congregational and community gifts, interests, and needs with available resources and areas of service.
  • Perform other duties assigned.

Qualification /Requirements

  • HND/BSc/MSc recommended
  • Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in same environment or related.in an ethnically diverse non-profit, community organization, or church is preferred.
  • Faithful follower of Jesus Christ with an ability and desire to express a personal Christian faith commitment to others.
  • Strong alignment with Harvester’s brand mission and vision. •
  • Experience leading church-sponsored programs using
  • Strong organizational and change management ability
  • Strong interpersonal, hospitality, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivation, with the ability to manage personal workload with minimal supervision.
  • Ability and willingness to work well in a team-based work setting, building effective work relationships using collaboration skills
  • Professional attributes of dependability and confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point), Adobe Acrobat, and social media web platforms
  • Must be vast in the planning, execution and monitoring of church related programs/ event management
  • Please note – Interested candidates should be willing to align with the following work structure.
  • Work days – Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Sunday (Half Day)
  • Off days – Mondays & Saturdays.

 

Salary range – 200,000 – N300,000 plus other statutory benefits
