Medical List for the Application for Recruitment into the NPF 2022

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) was created to make Nigeria safer and more secure for economic development and growth; to create a safe and secure environment for everyone living in Nigeria.

It should be recalled that the screening of shortlisted applicants for recruitment into the Constable Cadre of the Nigeria Police Force, by the Police Service Commission was held from Monday, July 1, to September 28th, 2022 in the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital territory, Abuja.

According to the Police Service Commission official website:

The Commission has the approval of The President to recruit 10,000 Nigerians into the Nigeria Police Force. Two hundred and ten thousand, one hundred and fifty, (210,150) successful applicants were shortlisted for the screening exercise and letters of invitation stating venue, date and requirements for the screening, sent to the email addresses of the applicants at the time of submitting their applications. Applicants can also check for their names in the Commission’s Recruitment portal, The Commission received 315,032 applications at the close of its recruitment portal on Friday, January, 11, 2019.
Niger State has the highest number of applicants-12,247 shortlisted for screening while Lagos State has the least with, 1,305. Kano State has the second highest applicants with, 11,717; Katsina State, third with 11,651; Benue State, fourth, with 10, 567; Adamawa State, fifth, with 10,361 and Bauchi, State, sixth, with 10,232 applicants.
Bayelsa State with 1,414 shortlisted for the screening exercise is second from the rear after Lagos State. Anambra State is third with 1,415, Ebonyi State fourth with 1,679, and Abia State fifth with 1,880 applicants. Out of the 210,150 applicants shortlisted for screening, 182,926 are males while 27,224 others are females. 

It should also be recalled that The Police Service Commission shortlisted eighty three thousand, four hundred and thirty candidates, (83,430) from its screening exercise conducted for applicants for employment into the Constable Cadre in the Nigeria Police Force. The shortlisted candidates sat for an aptitude test on Saturday, 3rd August, 2019, throughout the Federation.

The commission had announced that The Police Service Commission would meet to take a decision on the recruitment of 10,000 Nigerians into the Constable cadre of the Nigeria Police Force which is currently at it’s final stages. The Commission also assured applicants that the exercise will be concluded soon and the names of successful candidates released.

The commission also stated that dates for medical screening for successful candidates from the aptitude test held on August 3rd, 2019 will be announced after the meeting.

The attention of the Police Service Commission has been drawn to a list circulating in the social media and originating from the Nigeria Police Force website containing some names of candidates who applied for recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force for position of Constables. The candidates according to the information are invited for medical screening scheduled for 9th to 14th of September 2019. It has been observed that as at the afternoon of today, Wednesday, September 4th, 2019, the list has been withdrawn from their Website.

The Commission will like to report that the list was compiled solely by the Nigeria Police Force without the involvement of the Police Service Commission, the body that has the constitutional mandate for appointment. All candidates who took part in the aptitude test held on Saturday, August 3rd, 2019 are hereby to watch out for the authentic list that will emerge after the meeting of the bodies.

According to the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Yakubu Sabo:

The command wishes to inform the general public, particularly successful candidates, who passed the recent Police recruitment aptitude test that, there is going to be Medical Screening Exercise nationwide. It is scheduled to take place between Sept. 9 and 14 at all Police zonal headquarters simultaneously. Kaduna State indigenes who were successful should be in Abuja for their medical screening at Zone 7 Headquarters. Sabo said the candidates were to appear at the screening centres in white round neck T-shirt, white shorts and white Canvass.

He said they were also to report at the venues at 7:00 a.m., with original print-out of their Guarantor’s Form, Acknowledgement Letters and two white background recent passport-sized photographs. Candidates who are yet to see their Names can equally check on the Nigeria Police recruitment portal ( as released by Department of Training and Development, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

Members of the general public who are not part of the exercise are hereby advised to stay clear of the screening venue as stringent measures have been put in place to deal with such people, he said.
